Bonefish, once hooked, are feisty fighters and they generally weighed in at about 6 Kgs. Anglers have given a unanimous vote to the outer islands of Alphonse  to be the best place on earth for fly fishing for the heavyweight bonefish. These fish swarm together in large numbers so even a novice angler can end up with over a dozen fish in a single day.  But now days fly fishers are allowed to use only barbless hooks and there is a strict “catch and release” policy in place.  September to June is the season for fly-fishing.
